Rushane Scott track and feild racing3 time All American track and field sprinter - Rushane Scott shares his passion for sport as well as his health plan for success.

Do you have a health condition or allergy (ex: gluten intolerance) that requires you to have a special nutrition plan?
Don't actually have any health conditions as to why i take special nutrition. These supplements aren't made up, our body produces most of the key ingredients and the food we eat produces them also, but it hard to consume the right quantity needed for it to be effective, so therefore this is where supplements comes in play.

Do you follow a specific diet (ex: vegetarian, Paleolithic etc…). If so, describe it and explain how is it benefitting you?
When it comes to dietary, it is definitely one of the hardest thing for me to be consistent with. So what I tend to do is to try and be consistent with the type food I'm taking in. For example, i eat a lot of oatmeal for breakfast just to get the right amount of carbs in the morning and sometimes I may add in a banana. As an athlete it is important to eat healthy and eat at least 3 times a day but so far eating 3 meals a day i find difficult doing. I eat 2 meals a day, breakfast or brunch and then dinner. After workouts i take the post work out Fluid Recovery drink, or SFH Recovery, because its unique blend of carbohydrates, protein, and glutamine provide an outstanding and all natural formula for muscle repair, regeneration, and recovery.

Do you supplement daily with nutrients like vitamins, minerals, omega fatty acids, amino acids etc…?
Oh yes, definitely it is a must. I take Sport Multi daily for multivitamin and minerals, SFH Omega-3 +D3 Fish oil, Amino Acids, additional L Glutamine (AMINOPURE), Glucose (sports drinks).

What’s your pre-workout/competition nutrition and hydration plan? Be specific about the foods, hydration (water, electrolyte, other liquids), and sports supplements/fuels you use?
Well everyday i make sure i have some sort of electrolytes and water available before workouts. I like to eat an Orange before a workout also. On days i need an extra boost I take MDrive ATP Energy Booster, which helps me get prime for my workout, adapt to stress and perform better.

What’s your during workout/competition nutrition and hydration plan? Be specific about the foods, hydration (water, electrolyte, other liquids), and sports supplements/fuels you use?
My during workout regimen is somewhat similar to what i take pre workout. What i do love to drink during a workout is all natural Coconut water no additives. Coconut water has more potassium than 10 bananas.

What’s your post-workout/competition nutrition and hydration plan? Be specific about the foods, hydration (water, electrolyte, other liquids), and sports supplements/fuels you use?
I try to make sure i take in a good amount of Protein, Omega 3's Fish Oil, some form of Glutamine, and an Antioxidant - I like Super Antioxidant from Hammer. Also an ICE BATH is a must. I try to take them at least 3 times a week.

Do you compete in different types of events (ex: different distances or formats)? If so, is your nutrition/hydration plan different for each event?
I specialize in the 100m, and that's my preferred event.  If i was to compete in the 200m on a given weekend, i wouldn't take or do anything different.
